Terms of Service
Last updated: June 28, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website and services (the “Service”) provided by Scope Film Review LLC (“Scope,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and minors
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms and is responsible for the minor’s use, bookings, and payments. A parent or guardian must create and manage the account for any athlete under 13.
2. What Scope is
Scope is a marketplace that connects athletes (and their parents) with verified college athletes (“Coaches”) for personalized film review and feedback. Coaches are independent and are not employees of Scope. We facilitate scheduling and payments but do not provide the coaching ourselves, and we do not control the content or quality of any individual Coach’s feedback.
3. Accounts
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. Bookings, payments, and fees
- Prices are set by each Coach and shown before you book. You authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge your selected payment method for the session you book.
- Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe’s terms. We do not store full card details.
- Scope charges a platform fee on each session. Coaches receive their session earnings, less Scope’s platform fee, paid out through Stripe Connect.
- You are responsible for any taxes associated with your use of the Service except taxes on Scope’s income.
5. Cancellations, reschedules, and refunds
You may cancel or reschedule a session subject to the options shown in your dashboard. If a Coach cancels or fails to attend a scheduled session, you may be eligible for a reschedule or refund. Refund requests and disputes are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; contact us at scopefilmreview@gmail.com.
6. Coaches
Coaches are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Scope. Coaches are responsible for their own conduct, the feedback they provide, their taxes, and compliance with their school, league, and any name-image-likeness (NIL) rules that apply to them. By offering services, a Coach represents that they are permitted to do so. Coach payouts are made through Stripe Connect and require completing Stripe onboarding.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the film and materials you submit (“Your Content”). You grant Scope and the relevant Coach a limited license to host, display, and process Your Content solely to provide the Service. You represent that you have the rights to submit Your Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that depicts others without appropriate consent.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, harassing, or abusive purpose.
- Attempt to bypass payments, take sessions or payments off-platform, or defraud Scope, Coaches, or other users.
- Interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Misrepresent your identity, eligibility, or credentials.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Scope and protected by applicable laws. Except for Your Content, you may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our permission.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Scope does not guarantee any particular outcome, improvement, recruitment result, or the quality of any Coach’s feedback. Coaches are independent, and Scope is not responsible for their acts or omissions.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scope and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Scope in the three months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scope and its owners from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us to try to resolve the matter informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
